Jiri George Dokoupil

* 3rd June 1954 in Krnov, Czechoslovakia
Lives and works in Cologne, New York, Madrid and Tenerife.

Dokoupil was co-founder of the Cologne artistic group Mülheimer Freiheit, though he would soon became the protagonist of the Neue Wilde, calling forth a change in artistic consciousness. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions worldwide including the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York in 1985, or Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid in 2002.
